Description: Dance kinesiology is the study and analysis of movement as expressed through dance. It is a distinct scientific approach that examines the nature, structures and functions of body movements during the performance of dance movements. It combines elements from various disciplines, such as choreology, as it involves the study of movement patterns and the specific characteristics of different dance genres, and movement learning, as it examines how students learn and improve their dance movements. The aim of the seminar is to understand the nature of movement and muscle function during dance in order to achieve the development of body awareness, improve the dancer’s expressiveness, technique and performance. In addition, the aim is to explore how kinesiology is applied to different dance genres, such as traditional, contemporary, ballet, etc.
